Mykonos island is the rural context of this villa and a trademark of the Touch Studio aesthetics is to connect the design and the interior environment with the outside elements of nature.
It’s important to incorporate the natural geography that surrounds this villa.
A sculptural fireplace is the centrepiece for this main living room designed with geometric principles of rigour, blended with the extraordinary work of Italian craftsmanship in the metal details.
Living room
This space where people share private experiences with family and friends should restore and tell stories. Obtaining this takes what we like to call hidden customization: the creation of environments that appear simple while hiding a high level of complexity. This means being surrounded by small details, symbols and phrases that represent our clients and their world.
The living room has natural light as an essential component of the design, along with refined materials such as hammered délabré stainless steel, English dark smoky wood-blended with modern aesthetics and punctuated by fine art from Bastiaan Woudt.
Staircase
A sculptural spiral staircase, the house’s veritable spinal cord, sets the tone straight away. Its form is lightened by the striped délabré stainless steel mesh cladding of the guardrail, the metal weave of which renders it translucent.
The house’s atmosphere is predominantly duotone, alternating dark and light shades that create a subtle effect with natural or artificial lighting.
George Lamp from the Touch Studio Collection emphasizes the iconic wall art piece by Pierre Soulages.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is an oasis of relaxation where the feeling of serenity, quietness, strength, luxury and comfort are the main values. It is filled with natural light from the garden on both sides through two large windows.
Everything comes together in a humble, approachable way.
After all, our homes are our havens, our escape from the madness of the world, a place that should make us feel good and where we can find harmony.
Master Bathroom
In the master bathroom, the contrast of materials contributes to the connection between the exterior and the interior. The green quartzite echoes the garden greenery and when the light of the sun caresses the surface of this precious stone, it makes it almost translucent.
A duotone arrangement of a carved double sink made from green Fusion Quarzite from Brazil, embedded by an English Bog Oak profile, reclaimed from British logs that have been mineralised for thousands of years in wet boglands without oxygen.
The spiritual and sensuous capacity of natural stone as expressed in its unique colouration and veining brings a romantic and fluid form to our bathtub in Brazilian Green Quarzite, which is the master piece of this zen and relaxing bathroom.
